Saw an eagle dive for fish, barn swallows skimming water, several fish jumping, a blue heron all in a short time.
This park is located about 2 miles from Nockamixon, so I thought I would check it out. When I arrived it seemed quiet without a lot of people, which is perfect for photography. Most of the parking is above the lake and you have to walk down the parking lot to get to the water. Still that wasn't a problem as it keeps most cars away from the lake. When I got down to the water, I noticed that the water smelled of sewage and there wasn't much wildlife in the water, however I did see a heron and osprey fly overhead when I got there.I didn't see many options for walking around the lake and no one was on the lake. It almost felt abandoned or that something bad happened there and it was ghostly. It was a colder and windier day without a lot of people, so maybe that added to the experience. Although, after I left the park, I asked a few others what they thought. Without sharing my experience, they expressed similar thoughts.
Cool spot to fish, kind of hit or miss with what areas are available but got some decent fish. Good spot for kids to catch panfish, bass and bullhead catfish

Know before you go
- Visit on colder or windier days to enhance the experience with fewer people around
- Consider bringing binoculars to observe birds like eagles bothering geese
- Try canoeing for better chances at catching fish according to reviewers
- Pack a picnic and enjoy shaded spots by the lake; consider bringing bug spray
Reviews
Lake Towhee offers a quiet and serene atmosphere, perfect for photography and fishing. While some visitors noted a slight sewage smell in the water, others enjoyed sightings of wildlife like herons, ospreys, eagles, barn swallows, and geese. The park is described as lovely with opportunities for kayaking and fishing without the crowds found at larger lakes. Visitors appreciated the abundance of wildlife around the lake but wished for more walking trails to explore.

Absolutely lovely small park, great for a spending a few hours on a kayak fishing. The lake isn't heavily traveled like Nockamixon so if you want to escape some of the summer crowds come here.
Nice lake. I didn’t have that much time to fish, but caught one crappie
