I have a love-hate relationship with the number 9. The number 9 can be a bit of a heavy number, as interpreted through numerology, but with awareness and putting the energy of the number 9 to good use, it can truly help you accelerate in ways you couldn’t imagine.
This might not make a lot of sense now, but hopefully it will once I tell you a little more about it.
First Off, What Is Numerology?
First of all, in case you’re unfamiliar with numerology, it’s a study of numbers, number patterns, the energy behind each number, and the spiritual development between people when pertaining to a person or date. Each number holds specific energy and meanings that influence your life path number.
A personal numerology reading is a practical tool to understand yourself deeper, your spiritual awakening, as well as your relationships with others.
Essentially, you can see numerology as a blueprint of who your personality type is, but more significantly, you can learn more about the lessons in life you are meant to learn in this lifetime, and how that supports you on your way to finding your life purpose.
Your birthdate (month, day, and year) contains abundant hidden information about your life challenges (karma), how you project yourself outwards (external image), who you really are at the core (actual self), your tendency to behave, react, and think (and how that serves you), your natural gifts, how each year influences you (we call that the personal year number), revealing insights about your life purpose, and how you can find your way there.
Personal numerology readings can tell you how you can overcome challenges, amplify your potential, and live a more meaningful life, hopefully completing your mission in this lifetime!
Numerology readings are helpful in many ways. Personal numerology readings are the most common way of helping an individual understand themselves better and move towards their life purpose.
Why people are interested in numerology readings
There are also other reasons why people are interested in numerology readings. Some of these include:
Numerology and Love readings (to look at your compatibility with a romantic partner, strengths and weaknesses in a relationship, and how to make improvements.)
Numerology for Family Dynamics (to better understand your family members, especially when a lot seems to be unsaid)
Numerology Readings for New Births (due dates for natural deliveries or the most beneficial dates for scheduling a C-section)
Numerology Dates for Special Occasions (i.e. wedding dates, events, celebrations)
Numerology for Workplace Dynamics (to better understand your bosses, supervisors, or co-workers for better workplace harmony)
Numerology for Friendships (to discover more about your best friends and how you can continue to support each other)
Numerology for Running a Business (to match talent to the best roles and how to help current business owners, entrepreneurs, partners, and groups grow abundantly.)
What Does the Number 9 Mean in Numerology?
The number 9 in numerology represents a few key energies:
Procrastination
The Jack Of All Trades
Overthinking
Loss and Grief
Procrastination
Oh, how 9s love to procrastinate. I can hear the tiger moms roaring here. And though it may take ages for fellow number 9s to get their work done, don’t worry.
When 9s do actually decide to focus and get things done. They finish fast, and they actually deliver good, dare I say, great results too.
It’s something tiger moms may never be able to wrap their heads around because they tend to think, “Well, if you could’ve done this well, why couldn’t you have done it sooner?”
Obviously, the 9s are playing smart here and don’t want to add more to their to-do list, and I don’t blame them! 😂
The Jack of All Trades
People with a number 9 in their numerology chart tend to be jacks of all trades, meaning they like to dabble in just about anything, to learn and experience as much as they can, even if it’s a total 180 from their profession.
You know, that person who is somehow just always good at everything. 9’s love multitasking, which is arguably one of the least productive qualities.
What is helpful for a 9 instead is to learn how to focus and finish each task, one at a time, because number 9 will get it done quickly, as I mentioned above.
Overthinking
The 9s love to think, A LOT. I seriously mean it, A LOT. It’s sometimes hard for a 9 to execute their thoughts because they’re still formulating things in their head.
If someone gave a person with a 9 in numerology food for thought, you might not realize that the same thought will still be running in their head for days, months, or years until the next captivating interest comes up for them.
As a trained Mental Health First Aid Practitioner as well as a Numerology Teacher, I’d also like to point out that it is seriously even more difficult for someone with a 9 in certain positions in their numerology chart to overcome mental health issues if they are suffering from them. As they can easily get caught up in one thought, say one that triggers mild depression, it can intensify quickly as they go down the rabbit hole.
Please do pay extra attention to those who are seeking mental health support in general, but even more so if the person suffering from mental health issues is born in September or on the 9th, 18th, or 27th day of any month.
On top of that, self-care practices such as meditation, Reiki sessions, or Intuitive Healing could be incredibly helpful for people suffering from mental health issues. I work with clients around the world, in person and remotely, with these safe, supportive, and natural treatments.
Loss and Grief
All things come to an end eventually, and life experience does too, sadly. The number 9 highlights the process of completion of all things, including life and death. Have you noticed that more people tend to pass away in September?
I have been extra observant of it every year since I learned about numerology (and yes, you could argue that it’s a placebo effect, but I’ve been quite mindful of this). Fellow numerologists and I have noticed that people born in September tend to experience life, death, and grief earlier in life than others, and because of that, they may mature a little more quickly too.
Just make sure these dear number 9 people have been able to overcome their grief in healthy ways (at their own pace, of course).
How do you know if you have a 9 in your numerology chart?
Without creating a full numerology chart, the easiest way to identify if you have a number 9 in your chart is to see:
If you were born in September, in the month of number 9.
If you were born on a day that is the 9th, 18th, or 27th day of the month.
If the numeric form of your month and the day of your birthday added together equals a 9 (i.e. February 7 would be 2+7 = 9).
If your personal year has a number 9, you can add your month and day of birth together, plus the current year number (in this case, it would be 2021) and see if the total equals 9.
Remember, instead of what we’ve learned in math class, in numerology we add each digit by itself.
For example, if your birthday is August 5, and the current year is 2021, we would add: 8+5+2+0+2+1= 18, then 1+8=9 (any number above 11 gets added up individually again.)
People who would get the same outcome with a number 9 at the end. Here are some examples of people who would be celebrating their birthdays in 2021 (this is not a full list):
January 12, 2021
1+1+2+2+0+2+1= 9
February 11, 2021:
2+1+1+2+0+2+1= 9
March 19, 2021
3+1+9+2+0+2+1=18 -> 1+8=9
April 9, 2021
4+9+2+0+2+1=18 -> 1+8=9
May 26, 2021
5+2+6+2+0+2+1=18 -> 1+8=9
June 25, 2021
6+2+5+2+0+2+1= 18 -> 1+8=9
July 15, 2021
7+1+5+2+0+2+1= 18 -> 1+8=9
August 14, 2021
8+5+2+0+2+1= 18 -> 1+8=9
September 22, 2021
9+2+2+2+0+2+1= 18 -> 1+8=9
October 12, 2021
1+0+1+2+2+0+2+1= 9
November 2, 2021
1+1+2+2+0+2+1= 9
December 10, 2021
1+2+1+0+2+0+2+1= 9
People born on the above dates this year (2021) would naturally be born on a 9 as well.
Again, please take into consideration that the above ways are more general, easy ways to identify if you have a number 9 in your numerology chart.
However, there are other number positions in a numerology chart that could indicate if there’s a 9 in your chart, which can be done via a numerology reading.
Different positions in a numerology chart do have other meanings. And there is also a thing in numerology called “9-year cycles” that we haven’t covered, but you can learn a bit more about it here. In short, 9-year cycles hit us at ages 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, and so on.
I shared an experience about turning 36, an especially significant time for a woman, and what I learned about it afterwards.
If you’re interested in learning more about yourself and your numerology chart, there’s always the option to have an online numerology reading or in-person (in Hong Kong) too.
The Takeaway About Number 9 in Numerology:
Now that there is more awareness around the natural gifts of 9s, people with number 9 in their numerology chart can do things at lightning speed (if they choose to) while learning how to nurture this natural gift of productivity.
You can focus on one thing at a time, learn to take smart leaps of faith if you’ve thought it through, and be more experienced in processing loss and grief, which could potentially even bring comfort to others through their challenging times by sharing their own stories.
